Testing Finishes & Adding Epoxy
The production team sanded the wood down from 80 grit to 120 to have smooth wood. They tested various stains on three sample pieces, red mahogany, honey, and natural, with the excess stain removed from the sample pieces. Finishes, such as polyurethane, lacquer, and epoxy, were also tested by the production team. A blowtorch was used to pop epoxy bubbles when applying the finish.
