Kicking Off the Spring Semester
The spring semester has officially started to move along! Since being back in session, the Wood Enterprise Institute has been hard at work with our project. At just three weeks in, our team has officially finished the prototype product and we are currently working on spreading the good news. On Tuesday February 9th , our team will hold an open house event in order for customers with interest to come to see the live edge oak table in person. Although the prototype (seen above) is finished, we are looking into more efficient ways to go about building this table to look how we think the customer would want. In the picture to the left, the prototyping team is asking for the rest of the team’s opinion on how to eliminate flaws in the table. The marketing team (pictured to the right) has been hard at work getting flyers together and sending emails to possible customers. Before break, the marketing team designed an advertisement to go in the College of Natural Resource and Environment newsletter that goes out to all of the alumni. Along with getting the word out about open house, they are also planning with local business owners to have a “table tour” in which our product will be displayed at various locations around Blacksburg. In the picture on the right you can see the marketing team working on writing an email that sounds professional and grabs attention from the reader. We believe that seeing the table and its story displayed in person will attract interest in customers who are passing through and will spark their curiosity enough to contact us.
