The Aftermath of the Open House
This week in the Wood Enterprise Institute we gathered all our notes from the open house event, which was held on February 9th. We had a great turn out at our open house and thus got some excellent feedback to help us move along with the process of making and selling our tables.
Not only did the Wood Enterprise Institute need to address the feedback given to us by the three art experts who came in to critique our table, but also that of all the faculty, staff, potential customers, the department head, and even the Dean of the College who attended. The class worked to come to a consensus on how the table would be built, shipped, designed, and how quickly this would all happen.
We decided that in order to retain the elegance and integrity of the table, we will be using all wood fasteners to hold the table. However, we are building the table in such a way that it can be assembled on site if necessary. Our next table will be very similar to the prototype; however, we will not be adding an accent piece to the top unless it is necessary for that particular slab. Overall, the open house gave us great insight to move us further and help share this amazing piece of Virginia Tech history.
